Jaffer’s interest in the music stems from his family’s tradition in the performing arts. As legendary Nayyara Noor’s son, Jaffer Zaidi has unequivocally grown up with music as an essential part of his being. With his signature sonorous and rich voice, Zaidi began making music under the banner of his band, Kaavish, as a composer and vocalist. The band featured in Coke Studio Season 4 for a poignant performance of ‘Nindiya Re’ and again in Season 8 with ‘Neun La Leya’.

However, Zaidi’s journey on Coke Studio had already begun in Season 2 and has since been frequenting Coke Studio as a member of the houseband. Shedding off his signature locks in Season 9, Zaidi stepped it up by debuting as a music director. Working with the likes of Javed Bashir, Ali Azmat, Ali Khan, Mohsin Abbas Haider, Saieen Zahoor and Sanam Marvi, Zaidi was able to create an expansive body of work that showcased his versatility and keen ear.

Zaidi returns to Season 10, as both music director and featured artist, taking us on an incredible journey of dark, eastern soundscapes and resonant love songs.
